LIBOR

BIBLIOGRAPHY

Libor or LIBOR, the London Interbank Offered Rate, is a benchmark short-term interest rate. It is the rate that a bank would expect to borrow funds at in London, denominated in a specific currency. Daily, the British Bankers' Association surveys a panel of banks for their view of borrowing rates. The composition of the panel varies depending on the currency. Later that day, Thomson Reuters publishes indexes based on the returned results. The first official LIBOR rate was published 1 January 1986.
